The Environmental Services Department provides environmental services to sustain and improve the quality of life in San Diego. Toward this effort, the Department ensures that all San Diego residents are provided with a safe and healthy environment. The Department pursues waste management strategies that emphasize waste reduction/recycling, composting, and environmentally-sound landfill management practices.
